Portugal midfielder Joao Moutinho has said that his teammate Bernardo Silva can get “close” to the level of Leo Messi according to quotes from Reuters.
The Monaco man, who sees plenty of Silva sharing both club and national dressing room with the youngster, has no reservations about comparing him with the world’s best.
Chelsea have been linked with Silva in recent weeks, and the links only look set to grow stronger as the big clubs close in to try and arrange a summer move. Figures of up to and over £70m are being mentioned, and given the quality he’s showing on a regular basis there’s no reason that fee won’t rise higher.
Moutinho is no stranger to transfer rumours himself, having been linked interminably with Premier League moves before eventually settling for an equally financially rewarding move to Monaco along with teammate James Rodriguez in 2013.
