It’s taken an astonishing run of form to do, but Antonio Conte has turned round rumours of his sacking to rumours about him getting a monster new contract in just a few months.
The Italian press (well, TuttoMercatoWeb), are the ones leading the charge in rumours about the boss’ new deal. While there doesn’t seem to be anything concrete to it yet, it would hardly be surprising news to hear that Conte is getting a new long term contract. This summer the Italian looks certain to land a massive pay rise and another few years on the end of the current deal – the fact that it’s under discussion already is hardly surprising.
It’s clear that Roman Abramovich is delighted by the work his employee is doing, and while Roman has not shown great patience with managers in the past, he has always shown great willingness to reward those who do well with new contracts.
