Why the former Russia manager is spending so much time at Stamford Bridge

Eagle-eyed Chelsea fans will have noticed a new face in the posh seats at Stamford Bridge.

Blues fans may recognise the tired-eyed gentleman from Euro 2016, where his Russia team stank the place out.

To be fair to Leonid Slutsky it was hardly his fault: he inherited a pretty talentless side from Fabio Capello at the very last minute.

But now, having resigned from both his international stint and his main job with CSKA Moscow at the end of last season following 7 years there, Slutsky is hunting for his first European job.

What does this have to do with Chelsea? Well according to the Daily Mail, Roman Abramovich is helping out with the search, and has been inviting his countryman to games at Stamford Bridge.

This is presumably helping Slutsky both by building up his knowledge of English football, as well as getting to meet plenty of slimy characters in executive boxes who can help him land jobs further afield.
