Chelsea offered Loftus-Cheek swap deal with Bundesliga side

Borussia Monchengladbach general manager Max Eberl has revealed his transfer plan for the upcoming summer, hoping to sign Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan in connection with Andreas Christensen’s imminent return to Stamford Bridge, according to German media outlet SportBild (via SportWitness).

The Bundesliga side are prepared to let go of the Danish centre-back following Chelsea’s desire to bring the player back for the 2017/18 campaign, but are now looking to make more business with the Premier League leaders, who have so far been a very solid ‘cooperation partner’ with deals for Christensen and Thorgan Hazard.

Monchengladbach are targeting Loftus-Cheek, Arsenal’s Gedion Zelalem and Hannover’s Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee, with the Chelsea youngster the main priority ahead of a busy summer.

Loftus-Cheek is believed to have the ability to break into the the team’s starting eleven, and with Antonio Conte unlikely to give him much bigger of a role in the Blues team than this term, a loan deal could be the best option for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Monchengladbach’s ideal choice would be to sign the player permanently, with a buy-back clause for the Blues, but it’s unlikely that the Chelsea roster are keen to let the Englishman go on a permanent deal.
