Chelsea loan striker waits to find out injury severity

Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham is facing a tense wait over the next 48 hours as he undergoes scans on a thigh injury he suffered against Leeds United yesterday.

Bristol City confirmed that the striker was undergoing tests today on their official website.

City’s head coach Lee Johnson said that the injury is serious, and a quick return certainly doesn’t look like it’s on the cards.

Abraham has been a revelation at Bristol City after arriving on loan in the summer. He has scored an astonishing 21 goals already across all competitions, and is in with a great shout of winning the Championship top goalscorer award if he can keep up his good form and recover from this setback sooner rather than later.

Despite Abraham’s influence the Robins are struggling at the lower end of the table, and will need their talismanic striker back as soon as possible if they want to dispel relegation fears.
