Antonio Conte plotting £85m bid for La Liga star to replace Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid’s two-year pursuit for Thibaut Courtois might be coming to its long-waited end, as the La Liga giants have made the Belgium international their number one target for the summer transfer window, as their transfer banset by FIFA is finally set to expire.

The 24-year-old keeper has revealed to his friends and family that he’s keen to make the move to Santiago Bernabeu, as his wife and child are still living in Madrid following his three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2014.

With the reports only getting more believable day by day, Blues boss Antonio Conte is reportedly preparing for life after Courtois, and is looking to line up a proper replacement for the Belgian.

Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak is the number one name in the radar, according to Goal, as his recent performances for the Spanish side have made him one of the most promising goalkeepers in the world.

The downside is his valuation, as the Slovenian – also 24-years-old of age – recently signed a new contract with the club that has a €100m (£85m) release clause.

Manchester City and Arsenal have also shown interest on signing the world-class keeper, who Atleti signed for only €16m (£12.6m) in 2014 from SL Benfica. They’d make a great profit of him if Chelsea were to budge!

Chelsea’s second choice keeper Asmir Begovic is also likely to leave the club this summer, as he’s been offered a first-team role at Bournemouth, whose £10m bid for the Bosnia and Herzegovina international was rebuffed this January.
