Match Preview: Chelsea face Burnley with chance to pull further clear

Chelsea face Burnley on Sunday, a day after most of their title challengers play, meaning that the Blues have an excellent opportunity to widen the gap yet further on anyone who fails to pick up all three points.

Turf Moor is a tough place to go for any team, and victory is by no means assured, but the confident mood that the Blues are in makes them heavy favourites for the clash.

Burnley are at their best in games like this, and they will look to stay deep and solid while the onus falls on Chelsea to break them down. A point, even at home, would be widely celebrated by the watching fans and Antonio Conte must be prepared for this.

It would be the perfect game to play Cesc Fabregas from the start, and the Spaniard’s creativity in midfield will come in a lot more useful than Nemanja Matic’s running power. However Conte has been consistently reluctant to drop the Serbian even in games against teams lower down the division, so Cesc fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too much.

It should be pretty much business as usual for Chelsea. They must start quickly and aggressively and not let the Clarets play their way into the game. Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses must push extremely high up from the very start to try and overload what will be a determined Burnley back line.

Arsenal face a resurgent Hull team while Spurs travel away to Liverpool. By Sunday evening our lead could be larger than ever.
