Antonio Conte confirms that Dominic Solanke’s will is to leave Chelsea

Antonio Conte dropped a bomb on Chelsea fans in his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game against Wolves.

Asked about the future of Dominic Solanke, Conte didn’t deny that he could be on the way out of the club. Asked to confirm whether the striker would be leaving the club upon the expiry on his contract in the summer, the Blues boss confirmed “I think it is his will”.

The news is a blow to Chelsea fans everywhere who have long held up Solanke as one of their brightest academy prospects. The striker has scored goals for fun at every youth level, and has long been tipped as the next player to break into the first team.

However a loan spell with Vitesse Arnhem last term was a mixed success, and since returning a dispute over his contract has clouded his future.

Rumours emerged earlier today that the striker was considering moving to Liverpool on a free this summer after Chelsea refused his contract demands, and just hours later these whispers were all but confirmed by Solanke’s manager.
