Tottenham vs Chelsea – Match Preview

It’s time for the great London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham! It’s never a boring day to look forward to when you see these two teams against each other on the fixture list. Chelsea have now gone 13 games without losing  – or even drawing a single one, and Spurs are more than determined to end the record-breaking winning streak today.

Last time the two sides met was in late November at Stamford Bridge just days after Spurs’ Champions League exit against AS Monaco, and even though they were simply the better team in the first 45 minutes, Chelsea turned the game around and climbed to a well-deserved 2-1 win from behind.

Can Mauricio Pochettino’s group continue their solid form in the league by knocking the Blues over at White Hart Lane, giving Antonio Conte a whole new start to begin for the 2017?

One to watch

Dele Alli – The Englishman’s stellar form has already seen him being linked with a summer move to Real Madrid, as he has now bagged five goals in his last three games. He will be a dangerous figure in the Spurs attack as his link-up play with Harry Kane upfront could cause some unwanted havoc for the Blues defence.

Injury News

Antonio Conte yesterday confirmed that Marcos Alonso, who suffered a slight ankle problem against Stoke City last time out is fit to play. Pedro makes his return to the team selection after missing the last fixture due to a one-match ban for picking up too many yellow cards. It will be interesting to see whether it’s him or Willian on the starting sheet, as both players have scored two goals in their last game.

Tottenham on the other hand are only missing out on Erik Lamela, who is still recovering from a hip injury.

Match Prediction

The game could go either way really, but we have to stand upbeat and have belief in a dramatic 2-3 victory for the Blues. Three Point Lane, here we come!
