Petr Cech has suggested that Chelsea may crack under the pressure of the chasing pack in an interview with the Daily Mirror.
The former Chelsea stopper told the paper that, given the number of teams still showing potentially title winning form in the second half of the season: “if everyone gets points Chelsea feels the pressure from behind.”
It’s hard to argue with that, but as this weekend proved, the strength of the teams below Chelsea in the table works in the Blues favour too, as rest of the top 6 take points off each other.
In fact, while Arsenal won, Man City lost and Liverpool and Manchester United’s draw was the perfect result for Antonio Conte’s men.
The big games keep coming too, with Spurs facing Man City next weekend. Another draw there would take the Blues another small step towards the championship.
Then Arsenal face Chelsea on the 4th of February at the Bridge in a game that has the potential to be an absolute classic.
