Leicester City 0-3 Chelsea – Player Ratings

Chelsea bounce back to winning ways by recording their 14th victory in the last fifteen Premier League games to extend their lead on top of the table to seven points!

Marcos Alonso was the man of the match after an amazing two-goal game, scoring a 100-per cent tackling and heading record from the opening period. Pedro was another player close to the award, but overall there was no player letting the boss down tonight!

Here are the full player ratings for the Blues players from tonight’s lovely, resounding victory…

STARTING ELEVEN:

Thibaut Courtois – 7 – Great reflex save on the first half to deny Vardy’s surprising cross, which was eventually missed by David Luiz just in front of the Belgian.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7 – His great cross led to Chelsea’s opening goal, and he was very great in defence tonight overall.

David Luiz – 7 – Great game Luiz as well, whose tackles, clearances and long balls over the top were all on point tonight.

Gary Cahill – 8 – Went close with a superb overhead-kick effort! Was also very solid at the back tonight. Great performance from the skipper.

Victor Moses – 7 – A few nice runs and a few neat crosses. Expert defensively and great threat up top.

N’Golo Kante – 7 – Lovely comeback to King Power Stadium from the Frenchman. Was quick and powerful both in attack and defence, leaving nothing but the dust behind him after re-exiting his former home.

Nemanja Matic – 7 – Didn’t put a foot wrong with his long balls over the top. Lovely passes, and a superb performance overall.

Marcos Alonso – 10 – MOTM – HE HAD IT ALL RIGHT TONIGHT! Great goal to begin the game with. Had plenty of space to take advantage of on the first half, and won 100 per cent of heading challenges and tackles inside the first 45 minutes. Another lovely strike on the second half was something no one would’ve expected, either, and it really was a lovely night for the Spanish wing-back! Went super close to a hat-trick on the hour-mark.

Pedro – 9 – He’s in a stunning form at the moment! Was very slick with his take-ons and went on to score one once again! A back-heel one-two with Willian from another world led to a simple tap in to make it three for the Blues was the second greatest thing of the game!

Eden Hazard – 8 – Wonderful, unselfish play to feed Alonso for the opening goal. Seems like a brilliant fit for the striker’s role, and did well to cover Diego Costa upfront.

Willian – 8 – Lovely feet from the Brazilian. Made Fuchs look a bit foolish with his skills and tricks at times. Beautiful assist for Pedro who put Chelsea 3-0 up on the second half.

SUBS:

Cesc Fabregas – 6 – Had around 15 minutes to play of the game which was already set and matched. Important to give him time on the field too, of course.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6 – Came on with Batshuayi and seems to have sticked to the striker role upfront alongside the Belgian.

Michy Batshuayi – 6 – It’s hard to see what’s stopping him from going out on loan, as the spare minutes of games which are usually already settled aren’t helping his development anywhere as much as it could should he leave on loan.
