Juventus want free agent Branislav Ivanovic at the end of the season

Serie A side Juventus are set for a Premier League raid seeking moves for Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic and Manchester City defender Gael Clichy, Express reports.

The 31-year-old Serbian is running out of a contract at Stamford Bridge, with his current one expiring at the end of the season. It’s unlikely that he’ll be offered an extension, which means that he can tie up a contract with a new foreign club already this month.

Since the appointment of Antonio Conte, Ivanovic has struggled to hold on to his starting place in the Blues line-up, which has put the Italian league leaders on alert to capture the versatile defender.

Juventus have suffered plenty of injury worries this season with Daniel Alves, while the second choice right-back Stefan Lichtsteiner is being linked with a move to FC Barcelona. Ivanovic would be a perfect fit for Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, as he’s well capable of covering both the right-back and center-back’s role.
