Chelsea approach promising ex-Barcelona winger

Chelsea have approached Premier League side Middlesbrough over the availability of Spanish winger Adama Traore, Sky Sports reports.

The Blues have perhaps shocked a few with their latest target. Traore is just 20-years-old and has made 14 Premier League appearances this season in the league, failing to score a single goal in the Boro shirt.

Traore began his career from Barcelona and was seen as a bright young promise fulfilled with potential, but failed to make an impression after making a move to Aston Villa last season – for obvious reasons.

He then was captured by Middlesbrough, and the youngster’s blistering pace and quick feet on the ball has certainly caught the eye of Antonio Conte, who is looking strengthen his squad following January departures of Oscar and John Obi Mikel.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Middlesbrough are in advanced talks over a £8m transfer for Blues academy star Patrick Bamford.

The 23-year-old Englishman hasn’t made a single first-team appearance in the Blues shirt, but after a failed loan spell at Burnley, Bamford is set to sign a permanent deal with his former loan side Boro, where he bagged 19 goals in 44 appearances in the 2014/15 season.
