Nathan Ake was such a colossal success on the South Coast this season that it seems they are having hallucinations about his future.
After being recalled to Stamford Bridge from his loan spell at Bournemouth, Nathan Ake has been the subject of huge amounts of praise from his manager and his teammates alike.
Now, with the transfer deadline just hours away, a rumour has emerged in the Daily Mirror that the Cherries want to make a permanent move for the Dutchman.
Sadly they are trying to close the garden gate after the horse has bolted. If Chelsea’s board didn’t know what a gem they had on their hands after last year they certainly do now – and they won’t be letting him go anywhere permanently in the near future.
It’s quite a mystery where this rumour has come from, given it’s patently untrue even just from a cursory glance. Things really are just that quiet at Cobham today I suppose – long may it continue.
