Antonio Conte and Diego Costa serve peace with ‘handshakes and smiles’

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and forward Diego Costa have reportedly served a peace between them, doing it for the good of Chelsea, Tutto Mercato Web reports.

After a difficult few days, Diego Costa had his other foot on the gas pedal ahead of a big-money move to China, but is now set to stay at the club for the remainder of the season to help the team fight for the Premier League title, and let his transfer wait until then.

The TMW reports that the two Chelsea men have shaken hands, smiled and agreed to keep up a professional relationship between them at least until this June.

Conte dropped Costa out of the matchday squad which flew to Leicester last Saturday for the Premier League tie at King Power Stadium, and told it had been caused by a back injury which made the player doubtful for the fixture.

However, many reports believe that Costa missed the match and the whole week’s training sessions because of a bust-up with the Italian manager, following a £80m transfer offer from China with a salary of £30m-a-year.

Should Costa remain at Chelsea, it’s likely that the transfer rumours will begin nearing the end of the season, when he’ll once again be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge – something that’s gone on since his first day at the Blues outfit.
