Antonio Conte ‘determined’ to sign big Chelsea target before summer

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a big fan of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata and despite last summer’s failed attempt to sign the Spaniard, he hasn’t given up on the player and is set to put all on the line to seal a deal for him this month, Sport Witness reports.

There’s just three days left in the January transfer window and Real Madrid are not believed to be keen on selling the 24-year-old at this time, despite the player’s personal wish to exit Santiago Bernabeu as soon as possible for a bigger role.

Morata is reportedly feeling his position at the Galanticos way too small since he has mainly been just a back-up for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale in the Real attack.

The former Juventus striker has made just 13 appearances for Zinedine Zidane’s side, scoring five goals to his name.

Conte signed Morata on loan to Juventus when he was in charge of the Italian side back in 2014 which puts Chelsea ahead of Arsenal in the race for the striker, since the London rivals are also very keen on the player.

Chelsea have been very active in the transfer window selling midfielders Oscar and John Obi Mikel to China, youngster Patrick Bamford to Middlesbrough and possibly letting go of Branislav Ivanovic and Asmir Begovic in the coming days.
