Worrying news from Italy as loan star might not be returning

Mario Pasalic has never been one of the big names in the Chelsea squad, even when he was bought he was not one of the most hyped wonderkids around. He has quietly built his reputation in several loan moves, with injuries constantly holding him back from truly breaking into a major team.

Moving to AC Milan on loan this summer looked like a bad move after a few months, with the Croatian not getting any game time and looking like another forgotten loanee.

However there has been a dramatic turnaround in the last two months, with Vincenzo Montella making the midfielder a key part of his team which is looking like one of the stronger Milan teams of recent years.

The 21 year old’s performances have got the Italian press talking, and now the Daily Mail has quotes taken from the Gazzetta dello Sport, where Pasalic’s agent has openly discussed his future.

“[Vincenzo] Montella has shown great faith in him and has given him confidence after his long injury. This is something Mario appreciates a lot. He still has room for improvement – he’s at 70 per cent now.
‘His future will depend on several factors: on Chelsea, Milan, and him, of course. His wish counts and I can say that Mario already has AC Milan in his heart.”

It’s worrying news for Chelsea fans, who will hope that the Croatian can be persuaded to stay by Antonio Conte.
