Kenedy returns to Chelsea from Watford loan

According to WD Sport, Chelsea winger Kenedy has returned to his host club after a failed loan spell at another Premier League side, Watford. It had been first thought that the 20-year-old only returned to Chelsea to receive treatment for his knee problem, but is actually going to stay and have his loan contract prematurely terminated with The Hornets, the website can confirm.

Big things were expected from the Brazil U20 international when he arrived to Vicarage Road this summer, but injury worries have held the player back at breaking into Walter Mazzarri’s squad.

Kenedy only got to play 15 short minutes in the Premier League under Mazzarri in a forgettable night at Turf Moor. He was part of the squad in fixtures against Manchester United and Bournemouth, but wasn’t able to deliver what was expected from him and was therefore never a big part of the team.

It’s expected that Kenedy will find a new club in January ahead of another loan spell in England, as he still has to continue his development away from Stamford Bridge.
