Chelsea have stepped up their interest in highly rated Italian striker Andrea Pinamonti, according to the Mirror.
Pinamonti is part of Inter Milan’s youth setup, with the Mirror reporting that the Serie A giants are keen to tie him down to a new deal with a high release clause. They also note, however, that Antonio Conte is an admirer and an offer of £400k could be enough to prise him away from the San Siro.
If there is one thing that Chelsea could probably do without, it is more exciting young strikers. We already have a plethora of talent in that area of the field, from Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham to Dominic Solanke and Bertrand Traore.
In recent seasons, though, the club have appeared to rank stockpiling young talent high on their list of priorities. It would come as no surprise to see a move for Pinamonti materialising if he decides not to sign a new deal with Inter.
