If there were one area of the field that you would argue Chelsea do not need reinforcements, it is our defence. In the Blues’ previous eight Premier League games we have conceded just two goals; but that does not appear to have stopped Antonio Conte looking at making further additions.
Earlier this morning we reported the news that Antonio Rudiger dreams of playing in the Premier League amid rumours linking him to Chelsea. Now, we have been linked to another Roma centre-back.
Calciomercato report that Kostas Manolas is also a target and we could make a move for the Greece international in the January transfer window. The Italian site that Roman Abramovich is looking to sign a few more “important” players in the winter window, with improving our defence a top priority.
They also note that Chelsea explored the possibility of signing Manolas in the summer, but Roma decided to keep hold of him. We may soon reignite our interest in the 25-year old; this is certainly a rumour to keep an eye on.
