Fabregas wishes to remain at Chelsea amid exit rumours

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is finding minutes hard to come by under new boss Antonio Conte, but is hoping to earn his place in the squad.

The Spaniard has only played 32 minutes all season, and has certainly impacted games when he’s come on. However, Conte doesn’t seem to trust him and has stuck with the pairing of Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante in midfield.

The pair weren’t able to control the tempo against Liverpool on Friday, and Fabregas was brought on way too late to change the 2-1 scoreline. Rumours on his future are now widespread, and many expect him to move on in January.

Fabregas is having none of that, though. The midfielder had already spoken out on his desire to remain at Chelsea, and has done so yet again, posting a tweet on Monday saying: ” It was an honour to play my 100th game for this great club against Liverpool. I sincerely hope I can play 100 more starting from tomorrow.”

Stand up guy that Cesc, but let’s all hope that Conte is like-minded.
