Conte ready to let Zouma leave

According to The Sun, Chelsea center-back Kurt Zouma is a surplus to requirements for new Blues boss Antonio Conte, and the young Frenchman could be on the move before transfer window closes tonight.

The 21-year-old was linked with a loan move to Bundesliga side Schalke 04 this week, as sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that the German club are in advanced negotiations over the transfer of Zouma.

The promising center-back is currently fighting his way back from a knee injury he suffered from February, as he’s still yet to to feature again after his ACL tear.

Conte, who currently has just Gary Cahill and John Terry as fit center-backs for the job, is reportedly happy to let Zouma join another club this summer.

Chelsea are also in tight negotiations to re-sign Brazil international David Luiz, as they are preparing to make an improved bid of £32m for the former Chelsea defender, who is reportedly keen on a Stamford Bridge return.
