Chelsea in talks to sign £60m Real Madrid star

Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, as the La Liga side have named his price to be €70m (£60.5m).

According to SPORT, the new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is willing to pay Rodriguez’s potential transfer fee.

Also, the Galanticos manager Zinedine Zidane has given his permission to sell the Colombian star, as the player doesn’t look to be in the Frenchman’s starting line-up plans for next season.

Real Madrid are keen to sell the player for €70m, and don’t want an exchange deal, despite Zidane expressing his interest for Eden Hazard.

The Spanish club’s president Florentino Perez is reluctant to let the 25-year-old leave, but following Zidane’s permission to sell Rodriguez, the pressure is on the Perez.

James Rodruguez’s €80m move from AS Monaco to Real Madrid was a world record transfer fee in 2014, but the club won’t insist Chelsea to pay the same price.
