N’Golo Kanté officially signs for Chelsea

It has been officially announced that Chelsea have completed the signing of Leicester City’s french midfielder; N’Golo Kante.

The 25-year-old has signed a 5 year deal with the Blues after an impressive first season in the Premier league for the Foxes, which saw them go from being relegation favourites the season before to league champions in emphatic style.

Kante was close to adding a European trophy to his trophy collection this season but was narrowly beaten by Portugal 1-0 in extra time which denied the hosts the silverware they desired.

After putting pen to paper, Kante spoke about his delight to join Chelsea Football Club.

The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.

My first season in English football was very special and now I hope to go on to achieve even more during my time as a Chelsea player. I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and helping the club achieve a lot of success.

Technical director Michael Emenalo has also spoken about the clubs new signing:

N’Golo is a fantastic signing ahead of the new season and we are delighted to have been able to bring such a talented player to the club.

He is a perfect fit in terms of Antonio Conte’s philosophies and the style of football he wants to play.

For a player of his age he has already built up a wealth of experience and his exceptional quality will without doubt be a great addition to the team.

Kante arrives at Stamford Bridge with a Premier league medal and eight international caps to his name but will look to add to his collection throughout his time at Chelsea.
