Lukaku wants Stamford Bridge return as Chelsea see £57m bid rejected

According to Mirror, Chelsea are currently holding on to a £57m bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, but The Toffees are refusing to enter negotiations before the offer would be MUCH higher.

It’s looking quite likely that The Londoners are going to pull the deal off for Lukaku this summer, as they are ready to keep the talks ongoing despite the rejected £57m bid – an offer over twice as much as the Goodison Park side paid for the Belgian in 2014.

Everton have finally accepted the fact that Lukaku wants to rejoin Chelsea, but are still unwilling to let the 23-year-old go unless their £75m valuation for the forward is met.

Lukaku was one of Premier League’s best scoring attackers last season, bagging 25 goals into his name in all club competitions, when Everton finished just below Chelsea in the league on the 11th position.

However, it’s understood that the striker still has some ‘unfinished business’ at Chelsea, and is craving for a return to Stamford Bridge.

New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has already brought one Belgium striker in by signing Michy Batshuayi from Marseille for £33m, and looks to hold on to Spain international Diego Costa, who is surrounded by transfer talk linking him to a return as well.

Chelsea will face Real Madrid tomorrow evening, but Costa is doubtful due to a back problem, which is why he was also left out of the team facing Liverpool last Thursday.

Spanish side Atletico Madrid are reportedly confident of signing back the player they sold to Chelsea for £32m two years ago.

According to The Sun the club are ready to make a £40m bid for the Brazilian Spain international, and believe that the player could be on his way back in the next few days.

Despite being in top condition on his debut season for the West London side, Costa suffered a drop in form netting just 12 goals in 28 outings last campaign.

Costa already shocked a few Chelsea fans yesterday by deleting his Chelsea-related profile picture and biography from his Instagram account, also posting an old picture with Willian, Kenedy, Pedro and Fabregas, thanking for the friends he has made at Chelsea.
