Chelsea re-ignite interest in Arda Turan

Today marks the dawn of a new horizon with Antonio Conte having officially taken the reigns at Cobham.

With his arrival, transfer rumors have begun to flow again with the former Italian manager now linked to Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan.

The 29-year-old Turan, who joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid for £26 million last summer, struggled to crack into Luis Enrique’s starting eleven as he appeared in 18 games, starting nine, managing to get his name on the scoresheet twice while dolling out three assists.

Last offseason, Chelsea had been linked to the midfielder prior to his move to Barcelona, but the Turkish international opted to stay in Spain.

Arsenal, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have all expressed interest in the midfielder, but Barcelona want to open talks with Turan prior to beginning transfer discussions. Chelsea, seemingly, can offer a leading role in their midfield with Conte set to overhaul the squad that finished in tenth place last season.
