Youth midfielder offered Willem II trial

According to www.football-oranje.com, Dutch side Willem II are looking to give Chelsea youngster Kyle Scott a trial in their three upcoming friendly games which start against Amateur side VV Diessen.

There have been previous reports that the American teenager was unhappy at the club after manager Joe Edwards dropped the 18-year-old for their FA Youth Cup game against Manchester City in April. It was also reported that Scott’s father/agent demanded a better deal despite only signing a new contract in February… Chelsea rejected.

It’s no secret that we are still looking for offensive reinforcements. We want to see this guy at work. He gets the next few days the chance to prove himself. – Edwin van de Looi (Willem II coach)

Kyle Scott has part of the squad that went down in European folk law last season, winning Chelsea’s second successive UEFA Youth League trophy after a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in Nyon.

Willem II have already strengthened their squad this summer with signings Jari Schuurman, Thom Haye and Fran Sol so Kyle Scott will add fuel to the fire next season.
