Nemanja Matic wants Mourinho reunion at Manchester United

Chelsea’s defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic has told new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte that he wants a transfer to Manchester United, The Sun reports.

The Red Devils are now managed by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, and Matic is looking to reunite with his old manager who brought him to the London club from Benfica in the January transfer window two years ago.

The Serbian International was one of the under performers last season as the defending Champions slumped to a surprise 10th place finish in the Premier League.

Matic was one of the best defensive midfielder last season when Chelsea lifted the Premier League trophy at Stamford Bridge.

According to the latest reports in England, the player himself is interested in moving to Old Trafford and has told new incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte of his desire to leave Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho is a big fan of Matic and would love to see him at Old Trafford. It was claimed the pair fell out when Matic was substituted just 27 minutes after coming off the bench in the 3-1 defeat to Southampton, but Mourinho is actually a big fan of the defensive midfielder.

It will be interesting to see whether Conte will let Matic join United as recent interest in players like Rajda Nainggolan and N’Golo Kante suggests that the incoming Chelsea boss wouldn’t mind a change in the midfield.
