Musonda: I want to continue maturing

For every player emerging from the youth ranks, game time is vital for their development so it came to no surprise that Musonda extended his loan at Real Betis which will see the Belgian spend the 2016/17 season in Spain.

It was unlikely that Musonda would be part of incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s plan at such an early stage in his career but he has stated that he is happy with the move and hopes to continue his development with Betis.

I’m very happy. It’s good for my progression to play here and learn. Playing in a La Liga team is very good and Betis is perfect for this.

I want to continue maturing and have continuity and learn a lot.

The new project is very interesting. Last season we met our goal. We want to do better next season and surpass 10th.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Musonda and if he will be able to maintain his ‘golden boy’ status and become the footballer everyone hopes he will be.
