Chelsea plotting £60m bid for future Real Madrid striker

Juventus striker Alvaro Morata will officially return to Real Madrid for this summer’s pre-season as the Spanish giants are ready to activate the player’s £23m buy-back clause, ESPN reports.

Morata left Santiago Bernabeu two years ago to join the Serie A champions, but the transfer included a buy-back clause that Real Madrid are now ready to pay, as they are planning to sell the striker forward with profit.

The Spain international has shown good performances for the Old Lady in the past two seasons, and has already scored three goals in three games in the ongoing Euro 2016.

Following his probable transfer this summer, several clubs have shown interest on the 23-year-old, and Juventus are also keen to sign him back.

According to Express Online, London rivals Arsenal have pulled out from the race to sign Morata, but Chelsea lead the bidding war with their reported £60m bid, as Manchester United are also ready to go far for his signature.

Former Chelsea boss José Mourinho is reportedly a huge fan of the player, but isn’t going to offer more than £50m for Morata, which makes Antonio Conte’s Chelsea the favourites to sign the forward.
