Chelsea considering double swoop for Juventus duo

Current Italy manager and new incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is set to raid his former club Juventus for five-time Serie A-winner, Stephan Lichtsteiner and the Italian midfielder Stefano Sturaro, Metro reports.

With Juventus nearing a deal to bring in new right back Dani Alves, the incoming Chelsea boss is anxious to make 32-year-old Stephan Lichtsteiner his first signing at Chelsea.

Stephan Lichtsteiner moved to Turin back in 2011, just a month after Antonio Conte was appointed as the new manager of Juventus. After winning a Scudetto in every one of his five seasons in Serie A, the 32-year-old appears ready to move on.

Conte is believed to have offered Lichtsteiner a three-year-contract with a guarantee of first-team football in a bid to land the Juventus star at Chelsea.

The Swiss defender, who is currently preparing for Euro 2016 with Switzerland, has asked for a few days to reflect and think about the deal put up on the table by Antonio Conte. The current Italy boss fought hard to bring the defender from Lazio to Juventus and the pair had a strong relationship during their three years of working together.

The new Chelsea boss is also looking to bring Stefano Sturaro to Chelsea and pair him along with Cesc Fabregas in central midfield, as Nemanja Matic set to leave Chelsea for Manchester United.

Juve have already rejected a £15m offer from Southampton for Sturaro but would be more open to offers of around £20m.

The 23-year-old can be a huge signing for Antonio Conte as Sturaro’s natural aggression and intense plays means he will easily adapt to the intense and physical nature of the Premier League.

It was earlier said that Conte will try to bring Rajda Nainggolan to Chelsea, and after making many attempts it looks like the player will be happy to stay at Roma.
