Chalobah to stay on loan at Serie A, but not with Napoli

According to reports in Italy, Torino have contacted Chelsea over the availability of Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah. The defensive midfielder is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues and has spent time on loan at six different clubs since graduating from Chelsea’s academy in 2012.

The 21 year old had a tough time at Napoli making just nine appearance for the Italian club. Chalobah will straight away join Chelsea for preseason in a bid to finally breakthrough into the Chelsea first team under Antonio Conte next season.

But according to reports in Italy, if he fails to make an impact on Antonio Conte, Torino will take him on loan for the 2016/17 season with a view to make the deal permanent in 2017.

Despite that lack of action, the 21-year-old seemed to be well liked and there were reports in Italy that Napoli were ready to sign him on permanent basis. But it would appear that he’s heading back to Chelsea. Turin, and their new manager Sinisa Mihajlovic, are looking pretty much interested in securing the signing of Chalobah.

Chalobah, who has two years left on his Chelsea contract, put in a series of excellent performances at this summer’s Toulon Tournament against players 21 and younger. Would Torino be the place where he could make an impressive impact or will it take more seasons to get into the Chelsea first team?
