Chelsea loanee impressed players, fans in his first year in Germany.
Andreas Christensen didn’t win the Bundesliga with Borussia Mönchengladbach last season, but his performances earned him accolades. Shared via the team’s official Twitter account today, the announced the Dutch defender earned their player of the season award.

Christensen, playing in a position of great need for Chelsea, delivered significant performances versus top-class teams (Juventus, Manchester City, Bayern Munich). He’ll remain on his two-year loan through the 2016/17 season, eligible to play in Chelsea blue starting in 2017/18. I hope he’s looking forward to playing in our new Nike kits too!
