Pedro: No regrets on Chelsea move, the best still yet to come

Chelsea forward Pedro Rodriguez has told Standard Sport that there’s still a lot to come from him next season at Stamford Bridge, as he’s set to begin his second season with his new club.

The Blues beat Manchester United to sign the Spain international from FC Barcelona last summer on a £21m deal, but since the first half of the season turned out to be something against the favoured odds for Chelsea, Pedro’s return to Spain was widely speculated in January.

However, the versatile winger has told he doesn’t look back at returning to his homeland, and doesn’t regret joining Chelsea last summer.

I am really happy here and have no regrets about the decision I made to join Chelsea.

I am already looking forward to next season in terms of what we can achieve and putting the club back where it should be. Of course when you move away from your city there are certain things you will miss but, generally speaking, I am settled in this country.

Chelsea went through a horrendous title defending season, and finished outside top six for the first time in 20 years being unable to compete for silverware.

When asked whether the player still had more to show for, his response was very tonic as he promised to show the best from him next season.

Is the best still to come from me? Absolutely. I always keep faith in myself and my abilities.

I’m sure next season will be a great one for me and the club. I’m really looking forward to fighting for the Premier League, which will be a dream for me.
