John Terry — Captain, Leader, Legend — signed a new one-year contract today with Chelsea, ending speculation (or fear) that we’d seen his last game for the Blues. In an official statement, we’ve learned the extension only materialized after meetings with new coach Antonio Conte, owner Roman Abramovich, and the board with Terry last month.

Now, business concluded, Chelsea should attack the transfer market wilth force knowing that they completed the hardest possible signing of all — attracting a homegrown, renowned defender, and established Premier League captain on reduced wages.
