Hiddink wants Chelsea to re-sign two club legends

Guus Hiddink has today stepped down as Chelsea’s interim manager, but won’t leave the club as he will remain at Stamford Bridge in a consultant’s role, Daily Mail reports.

The 69-year-old returned to West London for his second short-term stint following José Mourinho’s exit in December, and will make way for Italy boss Antonio Conte who arrives after this summer’s Euro 2016.

Hiddink told the Fox Sports Tafel met Kees that he’s been in touch with club legends Didier Drogba and Petr Cech about returning to Chelsea after finishing their playing careers.

I have spoken with Didier Drogba. I spoke with Peter Cech. These are legends.

They have had much impact here. Once they are really finished their playing career, they can be of great value to the club, such as assistant or scout.

The Dutchman’s new advisory role will be concentrated on developing youngsters to the first team, while Chelsea were criticised on how little amount of players actually make it through from the club Academy.
