Chelsea face battle for English star

Local rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly ready to battle it out with Chelsea over the signature of Everton and England international, John Stones.

The Blues showed their interest in the center-back last season, but the Toffees halted the move for the youngster to stay at Goodison Park for one more season.

However, Stones has understood the realities in the game and has been keen on moving moving away from the club and with Mourinho expected to take over the United job later this week, he would like to renew his interest in the Englishman.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the Toffees will command a fee of at least £45m for the youngster, with Barcelona and Chelsea also in the race for his signature.

John Stones, who was named in the England’s provisional squad for the Euro 2016, found himself in and out of Everton’s team last season while the team has struggled to finish bottom-half of the Premier League table.

Chelsea are also showing a lot of interest on Everton forward Romelu Lukaku, who reportedly knows which club he’ll be joining before the European Championship with Belgium next month.
