Bournemouth vs Chelsea – Match Preview

Preview

This St. George’s Day, Chelsea travel to the Vitality Stadium looking to avenge the defeat at Stamford Bridge to Bournemouth earlier in the season.  Chelsea also don’t want Bournemouth to be able to say they’ve done the double over the Premier League champions, a team who were in League 2 not so long ago.

A win is needed today with Tottenham at home our next fixture. The Blues need to gain some momentum going into the match.

It would be a disaster if Tottenham were to win in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 26 years and would also be a big boost in their title push.

A win for the Cherries would also see them go level on points with Chelsea, something else which was unexpected at the start of the season and would highlight even further how we have underperformed this season.

Last week at Stamford Bridge was a complete embarrassment to Man City and for the sake of the fans the team need to have a much improved performance today.

Match Details

Saturday, 23rd April, at Vitality Stadium, kick off 3:00pm.

Recent Form

Bournemouth have claimed two wins (Swansea and Aston Villa) and lost 3 (Tottenham, Man City and Liverpool) of their last 5 games. However their losses all coming against teams in European spots.

Chelsea have hit a slump across our last 5 games, losing 3 (Everton, Swansea and Man City), drawing 1 with West Ham and our only win coming at Aston Villa which was highly expected.

Team News

Guus Hiddink provided team news in his press conference yesterday and confirmed Eden Hazard is back in the squad for today but will be unable to complete the full 90 minutes.

However John Terry is unavailable but will still travel with the side. If Terry is back in full training by Thursday, Hiddink said he will have a chance to face Tottenham.

Two of our Frenchmen will be out too in Loic Remy and Kurt Zouma.

My Prediction

Bournemouth 1-2 Chelsea
