Chelsea star expects Terry to depart in the summer

John Terry doesn’t look to stay in Chelsea after his Brazilian teammate Willian has told he expects The Blues captain to depart according to Squawka.

Willian told in an exclusive interview how lucky he is to have been able to play alongside such a veteran, and how pity it is for the whole team that the 35-year-old might not be offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

He is definitely one of the greatest or maybe the greatest player of Chelsea’s history. He’s won everything for this club. He is respected by all of us.

I’m thankful for having the opportunity to play beside him. I’ve learnt a lot from John Terry. I think he would like to stay longer with us, but unfortunately it seems he won’t be able to remain as a Chelsea player. The club won’t probably extend his contract I can just wish him the best of luck for the rest of his career.

John Terry announced he’d be leaving after Chelsea’s 5-1 win over MK Dons on the FA Cup’s fourth round, when the club officials told him they aren’t going to offer a new contract for him, telling him to wait for their decision.

Terry has scored 30 goals in the league making him the highest scoring defender in the Premier League history.

The Chelsea skipper is close to 500 Premier League appearances for the Blues, and in his past 18 months for the club the player has lifted the league trophy on four different seasons, the FA Cup and League Cup trophy five and three times, and of course both Champions League and Europa League, respectively.
