Zouma speaks about Chelsea and EURO 2016

The defender, who has enjoyed a huge string of success on a personal level throughout 2015, featured regularly for the Blues, is looking forward to what he hopes will be a big year for club and country. During his sit-down with the club’s official newsletter, Zouma has expressed how much love he has for his club, Chelsea.

I am very proud to be at Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’m very happy and feel I have improved a lot. In 2015 I had a lot of chances to play, played in some big games and won two titles, so I am happy with the year on a personal level.

Zouma, who already has two caps for his country, hopes that his performance for the team within this season would win him a spot in Didier Deschamps’s squad for the Euro 2016 in France. That’s why the defender is working really hard in training and playing more games.

Kurt Zouma was also asked about his personal highlight of the last 12 months, in which he recalled the 2-0 win against Arsenal in September 2015.

The highlight I think was the London derby at home against Arsenal this season, when I scored my first league goal for the club and one of the best in my career so far for sure. I celebrated the goal in a big way because we weren’t good in the table but we were desperate to win the game and I was very, very proud.

Zouma has been quite instrumental for the Blues lately and gave an excellent performance against Crystal Palace last Sunday. And with consistency, determination & hard work like that, there would be no doubt that he would be earning his place among the France National Team and would deliver mind blowing performances which will be displayed both at the club and his national squad at home.
