Hiddink hints at Hazard’s return date

Eden Hazard could potentially return to action for Chelsea when they host Everton a week on Saturday, with Blues boss Guus Hiddink ruling the Belgian out of the Blues’ game with Scunthorpe in the FA Cup on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

Returning from injury against Crystal Palace in the 0-3 win, the former LOSC Lille man only managed to last 15 minutes before picking up another knock and had to be brought off to be replaced by Spanish winger, Pedro.

Hazard hasn’t been on his fantastic form this season, compared to the others since he joined. It’s fair to say that the little Belgian has been one of Chelsea’s most important players since making the switch from France, and even picked up the PFA Player of the Year award last season, when Chelsea were crowned Premier League champions for the first time since Carlo Ancelotti was in charge in West London.

Hazard isn’t the only player of out the game on Saturday, and Hiddink revealed all in today’s pre-match press conference:

Midweek he will not make it. But we have to be careful also because a player must not fall again after twice falling. We must take a little bit more time. He was fit to play but it was an unfortunate slip in the Crystal Palace game. We must careful to maybe leave it one game or half a game later.

As well as Hazard, both Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy are unavailable for the game, because both have injuries.

We have to be very cautious about our striker, not having Remy and Falcao is worrying. Now I have settled in a bit I have had more time to analyse the young players between 18-21, so maybe there will be a surprise there.

I’m still a bit worried about his [Falcao’s] situation. When I came in he was injured. He trained again, then had a setback. I gave him rest to recover but we will see what happens. He is out of the cycle for the squad.
