It’s no surprise that news of Didier Drogba’s return to Stamford Bridge has been swirling around for quite some time now. And for a while it sounded such an ideal thing to do given Chelsea’s disastrous season with the lack of motivation and leadership from within the club.
However, the Ivorian star took to his twitter account to confirm that he is staying at Montreal Impact this season

Chelsea’s interim manager, Guus Hiddink also confirmed that Didier would not be returning this season.
In the short term, no, but in the longer term we talked about players with a big image for this club being welcome. There’s no time issue on this so I wish him all the best now in one of his later seasons.
