Diego Costa punched Chelsea tunnel wall in frustration

Last night Chelsea drew 2-2 against West Brom at Stamford Bridge, the game was intense, controversial and somewhat frustrating. And if there was anyone who is as badly frustrated as all of us would be, it’s definitely Diego Costa.

The Spanish striker’s frustration was there to see throughout the game after run ins with Olsson, Myhill and any one else who ‘wanted some’. Guus Hiddink thought that he felt Diego was close to the line but was in control of not crossing it, that was until he walked down the tunnel after the game.

How close to the line was he? I think there was little space left. But no, they were challenging each other. The defenders, and that’s their right, were provoking him a little bit, but in a mutual way. Those clashes are normal. I didn’t see any bad things.

Speaking about the Diego wall incident, this is what Hiddink has to say.

Well we can repair that easily! It’s not a big problem. He’s an emotional guy & I like that very much. If you have to push the players then I think it’s difflicult to survive in the Premier League but every now & then if you have to control them it’s even better.
