Hazard’s father thinks Jose is handling him well

Father of Eden Hazard, Thierry Hazard has praised Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on his ‘handling’ of Hazard as he concedes his son sits out in Chelsea games for good reasons.

The forward has been integral to Chelsea’s chances of winning games since his arrival to the London based club in the summer of 2012 but has failed to fire on all cylinders this season.

Chelsea have struggled for form after winning three times in 12 games this season and the 24-year old was dropped in one of the games in the Champions League against FC Porto which ended 2-1.

Thierry believes last season’s PFA Player of The Year will benefit from Mourinho’s shuffling of the team and is confident he will come back to his best sonner than later.

Eden has played first-team football since the age of 16. In almost six years, he has never been suspended or suffered a big injury. You have to put things in perspective. Each year it sets new goals that he makes a really point in achieving.

Personally, he is conscious of having to improve his stats. His strength lies in knowing exactly where he is at, but never gets overwhelmed: he does not purposely miss a penalty … but any cloud has a silver lining. If he plays less, he would arrive less tired at the Euros which he is so keen on playing because it takes place in his back garden, with his own watching.

I’ve dealt with him on two occasions to discuss the loan Thorgan and Eden’s contract extension. I like what he has to say. I continue to support his choices. Eden as well who understands and accepts them. Moreover, I think he handles him well. When he drops him, he is not punishing him, I am sure, but it is by tactical choice.
