Fabregas: Jose is the best coach in the history of this club

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has defended Jose Mourinho’s claims of being the best manager for the club amid his side’s struggles this season.

Roman Abramovich and his club officials released a statement backing Mourinho after Chelsea latest defeat in the Premier League to Southampton.

The 52-year old manager had hinted he would leave the club the moment he loses the trust of his players. However captain John Terry was quick to defend his manager insisting he was the right man to lead the club to glory amid the turmoil they find themselves in.

Cesc Fabregas also believes Jose has done enough to merit the trust of his players and saves some praise for the Portuguese tactician for his man management.

He is the best coach in the history of the club and the best we can have. Personally, he [Mourinho] helped me in a very complicated moment of my career and he gives me confidence.

I will do whatever he asks. In face-to-face situations he helps me a lot and I respect him for that. We [Chelsea] are not well, but we will do better. We have the best coach for the club. People have not forgotten that five months ago we won the Premier League and a cup, but we have to change the situation fast and soon.

Cesc Fabregas is on international duty with Spain but fellow Spaniard Diego Costa was not included in Vicente Del Bosque’s squad for their double Euro 2016 qualifiers and is one of the few senior players at Cobham training with Mourinho during the international break.
