Zouma admits to Chelsea’s mental struggles

Kurt Zouma has admitted that Chelsea’s struggles this season is as a result of the weight of being Champions from last season.

Chelsea have won once in four attempts this season after losing their latest game against Crystal Palace 2-1 last Saturday, after Joel Ward and Bakary Sako combined to ruin Jose Mourinho’s 100th Premier League home game.

The young defender suggests the Blues are will have to improve to stand a chance of winning this season’s title.

We have to improve everything,’ Zouma told Chelsea TV after the defeat against Crystal Palace.

Mentally we have to improve. The season after we are champions, it’s really difficult to prepare ourselves.

To improve is more difficult, but we have to improve ourselves and keep going, keep working.

Zouma also added that the international break has come at a good time to get the team back on track after abysmal performances early this season.

We have to think about winning points and after the break will be good for us, I think,’ he said.
