French side Nantes have confirmed via their website that the Senegalese has signed for Chelsea on a 4 year deal. The fee is believed to be £2.7 m.

Djilobodji can play in either central defence or defensive midfield, but his preferred position is in the middle of the back four. The 26 year old has made 12 caps for his national side, Senegal.
Last season Djilobodji was a key member of the Nantes side and made 31 appearances in Ligue 1. Stats Matrix compiled the following statistics for him last season: Interceptions: 101, Clearances: 262, Tackles won: 40, Blocks: 11, Aerial duels won: 88, Defensive errors: 0.
Many fans including myself hadn’t heard of Djilobodji before Chelsea were interested in him. However I’m confident the club have seen something in him making him worth signing and that he can be good for us. At £2.7m we are hardly going to waste any money if he doesn’t work out.
