Mourinho Quiet About Costa

Jose Mourinho refused to be drawn to comment about the FA’s decision to give Costa’s a 3 game suspension ahead of our clash with Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

If I answer I’m going to be suspended, I don’t want to touch anything that surrounds this situation because I want to be on the bench. I don’t know, I could tell you I know but I don’t.

Jose touched on the FA continuously being inconsistent in their rulings as the major reason he will not be drawn to comment.

In the rule book it says that some managers can speak about the referee before the game or after the game, some others cannot. Then comes the list, and I’m in the list of ones who are punished if they speak about referees before the game, so I have to stick with that rule book. It’s an imaginary list but clearly…

The club are yet to receive the written reasons from the Premier League as to why Diego Costa has been suspended for three matches which is not normal. His statements about Wenger will only fuel the clear animosity that exists between him and his counterpart.

This other one can speak about referees before the game, he can speak about referees after the game, he can push people in the technical area, he can cry in the morning, cry in the afternoon and nothing happens. He can not achieve and keep the job, still be the king, it’s a privilege.

Jose Mourinho has mastered the art of using every injustice handed his way buy the FA to galvanise his troops. He has also used this tactfully to his advantage to deflect attention away from very serious issues. Every time Costa got suspended last season his deputies stepped up to find the back of the net, our midweek Capital one cup tie was no different when Loic Remy found the back of the net. Jose will be hoping whoever he picks on Sunday to maintain this momentum. When the FA give Chelsea lemons Jose makes lemonade.
