Fiorentina make complaint about Salah

FIFA have confirmed that the President of Fiorentina, Andrea Della Valle has decided to make an official complaint to them over Mohamed Salah’s loan move to league rivals Roma.

Last season Chelsea loaned out Salah to Fiorentina on deadline day of the January transfer window 2015. During his short spell in Florence Salah impressed many following his struggles at Chelsea.

Since then the Egyptian has joined Roma, therefore Fiorentina have made a complaint to FIFA as they claim his loan move to the Italian capital, Rome, has breached the rules of the contract which Salah signed when joining Fiorentina. The claim is currently be investigated by FIFA, reports The Guardian.

The contract stated that Fiorentina had the option to keep Salah on loan for a second season as part of Juan Cuadrado’s transfer to Chelsea. However Salah didn’t want to spend a second year in Florence and rejected the chance to go back for a further year, allegedly breaching his contract.

We can confirm having received a claim from the Italian club, ACF Fiorentina, against the English club, Chelsea FC, and the player, Mohamed Salah Ghaly, for breach of contract. The matter is still pending and being investigated.

Chelsea have declined to comment on the issue, however our technical director, Michael Emenalo has defended Chelsea’s loan policy and feels other clubs will soon follow our stand. The Blues are the team in Europe with the most players out on loan.

The loan programme is one that I can predict confidently that others will follow suit and start doing the same. Without a B-Team, we need to find an alternative & we feel that alternative is to get them out and play somewhere.

We don’t just send them away to try and make money, we send them away so they can develop & become better players.
