Ake Ends Successful Loan Spell at Reading

The 20 year-old Dutchman’s emergency one month loan at Reading has sadly come to an end. During the loan period Ake managed to start in all five matches for which he was not cup tied(FA Cup vs Arsenal); furthermore, in his last two matches he was even aptly named as Man of the Match.

Steve Clarke, former Chelsea player and current Reading manager, was also quite saddened by Ake’s loan end, but is confident that the young centre-midfielder/left-back will have a fruitful career.

Chelsea have asked for Nathan back so he goes back to Chelsea. We thank them for allowing Nathan to come and I think everyone has seen in the five games that he has played that he’s a top player, and that he’s got a very bright future ahead of him.

Luckily, Clarke still has Nathaniel Chalobah, another Chelsea loanee, at his service for the remainder of the season.

With six matches left in the Premier League season Ake may be lucky enough deputise in a few, but only after the title has been garnered by Mourinho’s men.
